Bulldog & 500 W Construction Update

Thanks to those of you who participated in my construction Ask Me Anything event last week. I have new updates for the Bulldog and 500 West construction projects. Contractors on both projects are responsive to your concerns and you should feel free to contact them as needed.

Bulldog Boulevard Project Update

On April 29 and 30, the north side of the 300 West/Bulldog Boulevard intersection will be closed while crews bore underneath the roadway for utilities. Please use 1625 North, State Street, and Freedom Boulevard as alternates. Accesses to Computune, Jiffy Lube, and Carl’s Junior will remain open.

The project has experienced some delay due to the extremely wet weather and is now anticipated to be complete by the end of August. Crews are taking advantage of the drier weather and working as quickly as possible to finish the new concrete curb, gutter, sidewalk, utility and signal installations. Once these tasks are complete, the work will shift into the evening and overnight hours for asphalt removal and replacement, beginning in late June. Once the new road surface is in crews will add the center medians, protected bike lanes, and landscaping.

For up-to-date information on the project please subscribe for updates by emailing provobulldogblvd@gmail.com or calling the hotline at 888-966-6624.

500 West Project Update

A weekend closure of 500 West between 500-400 North will begin at 4pm Friday, May 3. The road is expected to reopen by 6 am on Monday, May 6.

There will be no vehicle or pedestrian traffic allowed in this area while the pedestrian tunnel at 500 North is removed. Residents on this block can park their vehicles at Timpanogos Elementary School or on side streets. Local traffic only will be allowed between 100-400 North between Friday and Monday. Motorists can use Freedom Boulevard and University Avenue as alternate routes.

Mayor’s Bike to Work Day is Wednesday, May 1 and cyclists should avoid the 500 West construction area. Narrow lanes, heavy equipment and debris on the roadways can impact cyclist safety. If you must travel from east to west in this area, please use 500 North or 800 North.

To reach the 500 West team contact them at 385-250-0606 or provo500w@utah.gov.
