Rentable e-scooters are coming soon to Provo! Provo City has chosen Zagster as its exclusive vendor and negotiated a deal that won’t cost taxpayers a dime.

Using the Spin app, anyone over 18 with a valid driver’s license can activate a scooter for $1, and then ride it for $0.15 per minute, capping at $10 per hour. The rider can then leave the scooter next to a building or in a curbside parking zone, as long as it doesn’t disrupt foot or street traffic. Zagster has a fleet of 400 scooters that will all be removed from the streets and given maintenance each night.

Several specific areas of the city have been designated as “no-ride zones” (NRZs), where the scooter’s geo-fencing technology will literally shut down the device. Riding on sidewalks is prohibited, and wearing a helmet is strongly encouraged.

This initiative is a one-year trial period deal, after which the City while evaluate the program’s success before it continues.

We will be hosting a launch event on August 8th at 10:00 am located at 200 E 700 N in Provo. Join us for free rides, practice routes, and fun! Download the Spin App to learn more and to get ready for the big day!
