We discussed in City Council meeting dates for tours and open houses for the current city hall, police station and Fire Station 2. I wanted to make sure that this information is available to you and I encourage you to come to at least one of these events.
As a city, we are looking into a possible bond for city hall, a public safety building, and Fire Station 2. I've previously addressed some of the concerns with the current conditions of the building in blogs, specifically with safety and seismic issues. We do need options and I am looking at all of the options, just like you.
We want you to be able to see the conditions of the current buildings. There will be three open houses where you can tour city hall and the public safety building. Fire Station 2 will be holding open houses at the same time.
Wednesday, July 25 Tours: 5-7pm and Open House: 6-8pm
Saturday, July 28 Tours and Open House: 9-11am
Tuesday, July 31 Tours: 5-7pm and Open House: 6-8pm
The open houses will be more of a discussion of current conditions and possible options. There will be opportunities for you to ask questions. The tours are available for staff to show you around the building.
If you can't be there in person, the city will be releasing videos on current conditions and the proposed options. You will be able to submit comments on Open City Hall and I encourage you to follow my blog for updates.
