The Final Countdown Challenge!

I’m enlisting the help of Provo citizens to win a once-in-a-decade challenge by completing the 2020 Census during the month of June! Can we count on you?

In a North vs. South match-up, The Final Countdown Challenge pits Salt Lake County (Salt Lake City and West Valley City) against Utah County (Provo and Orem), with each competing to raise their citizen response rate the most from June 1 through June 30.

The winning city will get bragging rights for the next decade. But this challenge also gives back to our communities. The losing cities will send staff and elected officials to volunteer at a Utah Community Action food pantry in either Salt Lake County or Utah County! Here are the details:

The Final Countdown Challenge:

🏆 Challenge Dates: June 1 – June 30

🏆Challenge Goal: Increase current participation rates by 5%

🏆For the Win: Winning county receives community food bank volunteer service from the losing cities. Winning city gets a decade of bragging rights.

While we’re having some fun, the importance of complete citizen participation in the Census cannot be understated. Every person counts. Each city is entitled to their fair share of the 675 billion in annual federal funding destined for schools, hospitals, roads, public works and other programs.

And did I mention I don't like to lose? Let's do this! Visit my2020census.gov to complete the census online or call all 844-330-2020 (English) or 844-468-2020 (Spanish). You can then track our city's progress at 2020census.gov/en/response-rates. Let's rise to the challenge and get counted!

Seems to me that we have a huge problem with students who left before April 1. Have the universities been in contact with them? The students may not even know what they're supposed to do.
