It’s that time of year again! Provo’s annual Pioneer Day Extravaganza will take place on Tuesday, July 24 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at North Park (500 N 500 W). Our Parks and Recreation Department has worked hard to provide you with an amazing event!
This is a free event for the whole family to enjoy. Check out the list of activities below plus the event map. There’s something for everyone at the Pioneer Day Extravaganza!
Activities, Games, and Crafts
There are plenty of activities from archery, panning for gold, wood carving, a petting zoo, photo booth, pioneer games, and so much more!
Live entertainment
Get ready for Old Time Music and even an interactive bird show! Come see Old Time Fiddler from 10:00 – 10:50 am and the Earth Wings Bird Show from 11:00 – 11:50 am on the Main Stage.
Homemade Pie-oneer Cook Off
This year, our judges include Mayor Michelle Kaufusi, Blake from Great Harvest Bread Co., and Devin from Hruska Kolaches. Ten members of our community will have their homemade pies judged and then there will be a public taste testing! Come and enjoy! The public sampling of pies will take place approximately 12:30 pm - 1:15 pm.
Competitions
Bring your competitive spirit and join in the Log Saw Competition, Sack Races, and the Rootbeer Chugging contest! There are so many more to join in on; check out the website for more.
Reenactments and Performances
There will be beautiful performances from the Morning Star Native American Village. You don’t want to miss it! Don’t forget about the Pioneer Village and Pioneer Museum as well. There will be historical reenactments for everyone to enjoy.
