Did you know that the Freedom Festival hosts educational contests each year for K-12 students?! This year they have an art, essay, and speech contest open to all Utah students whether in traditional public schools, public charters schools, private schools or home schools. Essay Contest
The 2018 essay contest asks K-12th graders to express their patriotism with a theme inspired by a quote from the Declaration of Independence,
“We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
All entries must be received by February 19th and winners can be awarded up to $500. Get more details on the Freedom Festival Essay Contest here.
Art Contest
The theme for this year’s art contest is “Americana” and entries include most of types of media including, painting, drawing, mixed media, photography and sculpture. Works must be submitted as a digital image in JPG format amd no personal or identifying information may appear on the artwork itself. Speech Contest
Prizes for the speech contest, open to high school students in grades 9 - 12 include up to $600 and the opportunity to deliver their speech at America’s Freedom Festival Patriotic Service fireside. The speech contest requires entrants to follow the same theme as the essay contest asking students to speak about a quote from the Declaration of Independence

The speech must be submitting in video format and is due by March 16th, other requirements and information regarding this contest can be found here.
