Interested in a career as a 9-1-1 dispatcher? Provo City is offering a brand new course designed to introduce anyone the actual ins and outs of the dispatch profession. You will get hands on training with the skills it takes to do this job, taught by professionals who work in the field!

Registration is now open with our May class already half full! Sign up before April 15th and the $100 cost for the class will be refunded after you successfully complete the Academy.
The class runs from May 1 - June 7, Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.
What you will learn
CPR Certification - Each student will receive CPR training AND certification from an emergency services professional experienced in the art of cardio-pulmonary resuscitation.
Radio Dispatching - Learn what skills and practices are necessary for providing optimum safety for the first responders.
Emergency Call Taking - Learn how to interrogate a wide range of emergency calls from medicals to police emergencies.
Stress Management - Stress management is an important part of every dispatchers job. We give you the tools to help manage a career filled with exposure to stressful situations.
Liability - We offer a quick study on concepts of the law that make sense and quiet the fears by providing definite guidelines.
Crisis Intervention - A full understanding of what crisis is, what to say to suicidal callers and how to handle abuse and addition calls.
